Is that Scott Hobbs the famous designer behind ATTIGO. Is he also the brain behind SCs.

It is indeed. Scott is a sick programmer and a pretty cool guy in general. He isn't behind the SC controllers, that was Jim Mazur. But Scott has been doing presets for us for a while.

That's gr8 to hear and I am happy that Scott is also behind the SCS controller by Mazur. Convey my appreciation and regards to Scott and rest of the team.

FYI... The SSL V2 preset not working properly with the new "Scratch Live 2.0 Public Beta 2 (build 20038)"... Even track scroll and load tracks to deck are jumbled up and are not stable.

I have been eying the scs.3D since day one, however I was not sold on it originally.
Since viewing this forum I was swayed to purchase this unit over Akai, Korg, NI, and Novation controllers, to name a few.

Few things:
1) Fantastic, unique niche product.
2) Extremely UNDER-marketed for its ability to manipulate Serato SL waveforms (the only midi controller with this ability).
3) I had to assign the pitch slide in Vinyl Mode 2 to actual pitch slide for each of the two decks independently instead of fast forward and rewind as is the current default (no other mode allows this assignment).
4) Wish deck A and deck B letter would illuminate purple or flash red for easier deck identification (even with deck buttons blue or red its till easy to mistaken current deck because of busy interface).
5) Would like to be able to dim the interface.
6) Most importantly, please fine tune the wave manipulation feature (improve the responsiveness, adjust for skips).

I use a Rane MP4 mixer for its compact size and SSL bundle. I am not interested in lugging around my 1200's and a coffin just to be able to scratch. For this reason the SCS.3D is an excellent solution.

Do the math...one Rane MP4 and one Stanton SCS.3D at $850 Vs. Rane SL1 (lowest priced scratching option) and two turntables at $1400, not to mention the weight difference!
* * * NOTE: THIS CURRENT PRESET DOESN'T ALLOW FOR TRUE SCRATCHING...YET * * *

Serato waveform manipiulation without turntables is HUGE! If it wasnt for this forum I would never even have known this unit was capable of such a feat. I just can't understand why this product is not being properly mass marketed with this preset as the focal selling point!

Atleast one looks like a bug in Serato software... seen "20038/Mac/bug: Left track always loads instant doubles " in Scrtach Live forums

I have a doubt about being able to use the SCS3D and SCS3M mixer together using this preset with Serato Scratch Live.

My question is, assuming that I continue using my Serato hardware connected while I use the SCS.M mixer, will I be able to control the crossfading and other standard mixer features instead of having to use my Rane mixer?

If a moderator or Stanton know-how can guide me that would be great.

a midi controller can only control a function that is in the software. SSL does not have a crossfader

Hey DJBuddyLove did you get any luck in reconfiguring it for Serato 2.0 I am having too many MIDI issues with their latest Beta. I remember you had a private beta, do you have a "New Special Beta" that's not public yet. If so, how is the SCS 3 coming along (the downtime of SCS system sucks a bit)...

Hey I dont know how many of you have really given this a try, but recently I discovered that by using the bottom section of the platter in Vinyl mode 2 with the ssl preset, you actualy have a pretty responsive scratch ability. The other sections of the platter are not so acurate. Thats a shame since thats 90% of the scratch area.

So I take back a comment on my earlier post stating that scratching was not truly capable with this preset.

Thanks for the reply DJBuddyLove. I can understand your frustration.

The downtime for the 600$ investment was really bad. My 3D's will be picked up tommorow along with an old mixer, I sold them to buy a better mixer. But I kind of repent selling them, as the 3D's didn't fetch a decent price. Anyway, my friend has extra 3D's that I could borrow if I would ever need them again.
