The long awaited update for the ScratchLive preset is now available for testing! We've included the following features...

Direct waveform manipulation (scratching, cueing, etc)
Control of Video SL
Full compatibility with the new 1.92 features (including the sample banks, etc)

**NOTE** It is important that you update your DaRouter software to the new 1.1.37 version (or higher). This preset will not work properly without it. You can get the new DaRouter here...

Well, I gave it a try, but I don't see any difference. The docs (jpegs) are not much help. I don't see how I'm manipulating the waveform with the SCS.3d. I think the biggest problem with this device and everything associated with it is the documentation. The instructions need to be less glib and more informative. Ableton, Cycling '74, even Scratch Live itself provide wonderful examples of how to approach effective documentation. I'll be back in a few days and give it another shot. For now, I'm annoyed and I'm going to sleep.

We'll release "real" documentation when we release the final preset (and have it bundled with DaRouter). In the meantime, feel free to ask questions here - that's what this thread is for.

Hello there

at last the long-awaited preset for serato !

Here are my thoughts :
- first of all, i was surprised by the color-coding of DECK A vs DECK B (in DECK A, the 6 Buttons (Fx, eQ, etc. ) are blue, in Deck B, they are Red), when you use a single unit. Maybe it's a better way not to make mistakes.

EQ MODE :
- the B11 & B12 'Temporary Mute' mute the TWO DECKS simultaneaously. The same for Slider 3 & 5, and B13 and B14. Both act on TWO DECKS. Must be corrected, even if i don't know who can use these features...

It is a good idea to let a mode with user-assignable buttons.

LOOP MODE 1
- During my test, the 1/8 and 1/16th loops did not work. When LOOP ROLL MODE is on, the 1/8 and 1/16th loop buttons just call back the latest loop length used. Need to be fixed.
No 32 and 1/32 loop buttons. Doesn't matter for me but why don't you use the two zone up and down to do this ?

this is a good idea to make loop roll trigger, and another good idea is that when the trigger is on, the loop only works as long as the loop button is touched. Great !

TRIGGER MODE 2
good idea to implement the sampler. The use of Trigger/Hold/Single/Repeat is a little bit confused in the beggining. I can understand The sampler in SSL has a lot of function ('play from', pitch +/-...) which will be very complicated to implement in Scs3d. Anyway, a trigger to select the bank of the sampler would be very useful !

VINLY MODE
the Toggle View Panes still not include the Sampler... Another useful idea would be to toogle ON/OFF the view panes.

VINYL MODE 2
i am very impressed by the scratch feature ! At least your product name means something
Must say the that the B13 and B14 do not PITCH Bend Up and Down but do a FFW/FRW which is slightly different...


In fact, i must admit i am pleased by the V2, essentially by the sampler mode implemented, and the loop mode fixed and improved. Just a few tings to fix (see above) and it will be perfect. Good work, guys.

all the same for me...
also notice in sample trigger mode you cant use both sample buttons (middle) at the same time..
you can hold down any combinations of buttons and trigger multiple sample's at one time w/ no problem.. but cant trigger both middle buttons at the same time (top/bottom middle) you can only use one at a time...def a bug.
ill keep you posted if i find more..

I'm trying to recommend a more elegant / obvious way of selecting the Effect..

out of the available faders (the ones in grey that are not currently used) what makes the most sense?

Ive Recently discoverd another bug..
when changing trigger mode trigger 1 / trigger 2 it locks up alot..
i has no prefrence where it locks up trigger mode 1 / trigger mode 2 ???
to unlock it you must activate a difrent button like loop, eq, fx ect then go back to trigger mode and it unlocks now your able to go into mode 1 or 2...but if you go back & forth alot it locks up agian..

Have a question about how to activate the Video-SL feature and
also how do you switch between say vinyl 1 and vinyl 2?? Have not been able to
figure this function out. Sorry but I am very new to this system and the instructions
have not been very helpful.

7) Once Scratch LIVE is open, click SETUP then select the MIDI tab. Select “SSL SCS.3d V1.00” (this is the .XML file that we placed in the MIDI folder) and activate it by using the “load” button. Well, that’s it folks, your done!

there is no midi tab.

There is a midi button next to the "SETUP" and "?" tabs but it does nothing.

I believe i installed everything correctly......

Just had a a bash at the new preset with dual controllers. Liking the colour coding and the wav manipulation. I get the same problems listed above. I liked the trigger function better as it was in v1 as I dont think its very useful for the sample player. Keep up the good work looking forward to the next release.
